Timmins Student Meets Prince Charles & Camilla

05/23/2012 - W. Earle Miller Public School student, Kaitlyn Bertrand was recognized at Queen's Park yesterday by Prince Charles and Camilla for her work with the Timmins Red Cross. It was a special day for "hometown hero" Kaitlyn who gave flowers to Camilla and had a conversation with Charles. Way to go Kaitlyn!

Pink Shirt Day at TDSS

05/22/2012 - Students at Timiskaming District Secondary School marked "Pink Shirt Day" by creating a heart on their field to show love and respect instead of bullying. "It isn't BIG to make others feel small" was the motto for the day.

Students Participate in Drum Making Workshop

05/15/2012 - Students at Joseph H. Kennedy Public School recently enjoyed the opportunity to participate in a drum making workshop under the guidance of Paul Chokomolin from the Wahgoshig First Nation. Each student involved created their very own drum.

Jump Rope for Heart
in Kirkland Lake

05/15/2012 - Ms. Coombs' grade 2 class from Federal Public School raised $1532.00 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation through a Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. Our "heart heroes" had fun raising money but also learned why it is important to maintain healthy hearts and how to reduce the risks of heart attack and stroke.
