Climate change has been a big news maker in recent years with government, organizations, and ordinary people raising public awareness of the topic. District School Board Ontario North East has prepared some resources to celebrate our planet and to help protect the environment.

Canada Post Stamp Month

In October 2006, Canada Post celebrated Stamp Collecting Month with a set of four stamps to bring awareness to at-risk species that are native to Canada. Stamp Month provides the perfect opportunity to introduce kids to the fun and exciting world of stamps.

Take A Vacation Without Leaving Home

In the summer of 2006, District School Board Ontario North East featured 18 webcams from around the world that allowed users to travel the world without leaving home. The webcams are online again allowing you to take a vacation whenever you wish.

TVOntario's Independent Learning Centre (ILC) has created two invaluable resources, Ask a Teacher! and CareerMATTERS, to help support academic achievement and post-secondary planning amongst high school students.

Resourcentral is Linking The North

Resourcentral is linking Northeastern Ontario with their online resource and service portal website. The goal of the project is to market and enhance the use of Community Access Program and Public Internet Sites within our area.
