FIELD ECOLOGY

This course has been developed by a team of teachers at SRFSS in order to teach students about nature and their local environment.  Some of the topics that will be covered include:

• Basic survival skills - i.e. navigating with a compass, first aid certification

•  

• Tree identification

•  

• Forestry Practices

•  

• Effections of polution etc.

Due to the nature of the course, students will be spending a portion of their class time outdoors and practicing skills they have learned. We anticipate several field trips over the course of the semester and will be inviting guest speakers involved with various industries and natural resource management.
